Our ongoing exciting CPD!

'Bicycle Wheel to Bedspring'

Carol Jolliffe

Here is the link to the trailer:

CPD training by Family and Systemic Psychotherapist Carol Joliffe.
'From Bicycle wheel to Bedspring' will look at relational approaches to working with complexity and trauma.

Carol works as a consultant systemic psychotherapist and as clinical lead for family therapy in an NHS Trust. She has a private clinical practice, offering family therapy and assessments for prospective adopters and foster carers. She teaches on family therapy and clinical psychology training courses for the Tavistock Centre and Canterbury Christchurch University.

These events are online due to Covid19. We have had 2 so far - and we plan to have more.

Cost is £25 with a concessionary rate of £10 for trainees.

CPD certificates for 3 hours will be provided.

To let us know that you would like to book for a further event please contact the Counsellors' Collective at:

Carol would plan to focus on 'context' in her next online workshop - looking at culture, socioeconomic group etc. and a request has been made to consider work with people from other cultures who have been adopted into white British families.

  • When COVID 19 allows we will arrange a full-day workshop (probably in Bristol), which will include all the lovely extras like coffee and tea, biscuits and lunch, and you will be able to meet Carol in person!  There will be a scaled charge for this depending on whether you are a trainee or 'earning'.

As you will be aware, a result of the government advice regarding the delay of the spread of infection by the Covid 19 virus, is that all those in vulnerable groups are now asked to avoid face to face contact, as much as possible, until otherwise advised. We understand that this could last for a period of about fourteen weeks.

In the public interest, and for the protection of each of us, we are working out how best to comply with this advice, while, at the same time continuing to provide our therapy work.  We know that at this time of uncertainty and world-wide anxiety it is even more important to maintain continuity in a way that is helpful until we can work face to face again.

We are suggesting that we work over the telephone on numbers agreed between client and counsellor, or by use of a secure online communication.  We are suggesting Zoom to all our supervisors and trainees.  There is a concern that Skype is less secure. We have had confirmation from most of the training colleges that this work will be eligible for inclusion in the clinical placement hours.

We hope this is helpful and that ‘normal service will be resumed as soon as possible’!

With our very best wishes
